DAP LODGE REPORT AGAINST KOREAN GUIDE

DAP Sabah has officially lodge a report at State Ministry of Tourism against the Korean tour guide who has been feeding our wildlife in Sabah. The group is led by its assistant secretary Junz Wong.

According to the report, he urged the State Tourism Minister Dato Masidi to take stern actions against those foreign guides ie Korean guides, who have violated our laws, by feeding our wildlife.

Junz said he has evidence (video clip) of a Korea tour guide who clearly has no respect for our laws knowing that feeding proboscis monkeys (protected animals) is prohibited, yet did it anyway just to entertain their guests!

"Proboscis monkeys are one of most valuable attractions and these animals are facing extinctions. They are the assets of Sabah tourism. They need to be protected at all costs." Junz explained.

Sabah Tourism is an unique industry, Its attractions are to do with nature and wildlife. Failure to protect these tourism attractions will destroy Sabah tourism.

Sabah tourism should and must continue to be operated under the hands of local Sabahan tour guides because their livelihoods depends on it. They have sentiments to the assets of Sabah unlike the foreigners. They don't care about our attractions and they have no sentimental value to our environments and wildlife.

Sabahans are the best protectors of Sabah natural environments and wildlife.

Issuing license to Korea Tour Guide to operate in Sabah tourism is a big mistake by Ministry of Tourism.

Junz said he has also received many other complaints that Korea tour guides have violated Sabah tourism laws such as using chairs to beat the monitor lizards at the islands, picking away corals as souvenirs and so forth.

DAP Sabah demanded that Tourism Minister Dato Masidi to take immediate actions against these Korea tour guides and call off the decision to issue temporary licenses to Korea guides. Junz concluded after lodging report at Tourism Ministry.
