LDP CONDEMNS TRAMPLING OF LEADERS’ PICTURES

KOTA KINABALU: Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) has condemned those trampling on the pictures of national leaders and described such action as a disgrace to Malaysia.

LDP publicity officer Albert Kok said such disgraceful act during the Janji Demokrasi gathering in the national captial on August 30 was not part of Malaysia’s culture.

“Even if we have to disagree with our national leaders, we do so with constructive criticism,” he said, adding that it was also frightening to see opposition leaders leading the pack and using this tactic of hate, shame and blame to undermine the people.

“We must not allow them to destroy our harmony. We must not let this hooliganism into our society,” he said.

Police have set up three task forces to investigate three reports involving incidents at Dataran Merdeka, an attack on the People’s Independence Tour bus and on the contravention of the Peaceful Gathering Act 2011 by Himpunan Janji Bersih organisers. (theborneopost)
