MEET....Prime
Minister Najib Razak and Chief Minister Musa Aman at the meet the people
sessions in Kudat Town.
SABAH Chief Minister Musa
Aman said the turnout of 50,000 people during the Prime Minister Najib Razak
meet-the-people sessions shows the overwhelming support for Barisan Nasional.
“Wherever he went the
reception has always been overwhelming and warm. People from all over Sabah
have not failed to come and show their support. Tens of thousands gather just
to welcome him.
"Why? Because we are
very grateful to have a Prime Minister who is truly a people’s leader and who
cares for our welfare and interests,” he said in his welcoming remarks at the
‘Jelajah Janji Ditepati Sabah’ launched by Najib yesterday.
Musa said Najib's exemplary
leadership, commitment and sincerity in addressing issues faced by the people
has been recognised by Sabahans.
"The PM comes to listen
to the people, and when BN leaders meet the people, we fulfill our promises,
unlike the opposition. While they only make promises, we have already delivered
ours.
Musa pointed out the
recently tabled 2013 Budget as proof of Najib's commitment to bring development
to Sabah and improve the living standard of its people. This is proven through
the allocation of RM386 million for the standardisation of prices of goods in
Sabah and Sarawak.
Other schemes introduced to
lessen the people's burden include the setting up of more Kedai Rakyat
1Malaysia (KR1M) to reduce the cost of daily goods as well as the Bantuan
Rakyat 1Malaysia (BR1M) 2.0 scheme. Students will receive special allowances
and book vouchers. Taxi drivers will also receive assistance through the
Bantuan Tayar Teksi Rakyat 1Malaysia (TR1MA).
In Sabah, Najib announced
the funding for the development of Kota Belud as one of Sabah's rice granaries.
