UNSETTLED ISSUES IN SABAH

THE comments made by the President of PBS during their 25th annual general meeting in Penampang on the 11th of November 2010 over the issues of unsolved matters in Sabah like illegal immigrants, lack of development, economic participation and education were in dire need of attention and solution, and he is right to say that because this is exactly what is happening to Sabah under the BN government over the long period of rule, said Dr. Hiew King Cheu, the KK MP.

Pairin is throwing a stone but not knowing that the stone he threw also hit him back on the face. How can he say that the important and pressing happenings in Sabah had been highlighted by PBS and by other BN component parties but until today, and they still remain unresolved.

He further expressed confidence that the problem were high on the Federal government’s agenda. He made the comments in the present of the Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman as guest of honour.

The deputy chief minister, Pairin also the Minister of Infrastructure Development said that the issue close to the hearts of the people needed solutions and it was important for the government to give serious attention to them before the next general election. He also assured that PBS will remain steadfast in upholding the rights of the people.

Hiew said that Pairin is only interested to make sure the PBS win some seats in the next general election and remains in the government. How can he only emphasize on the government to give serious attention to the Sabah problems and issues before the next general election? This only means that he is only interested to stay in power on the expense of the Sabahan.

Dr. Hiew also commented on the remarks made by the PBS president that Pairin must have forgotten that this had been repeatedly mentioned over and over again, but what have they (PBS) achieved in the past.

Sabah is still stuffed with the problem of illegal immigrants, illegal squatters and housing colonies, illegal smuggling, illegal MYcard, illegal voters, illegal foreigner hawkers to rob the businesses of the locals, plenty of incoming ‘new Bumiputra’, poverty, unemployment, no industries development, low growth, bad infrastructure facilities, poor health care, kampong welfare neglected, people migrating, brain drain, state wealth drain, neglected by federal government, and so on. We can write a book on these issues that is deeply affecting the Sabahan.

The BN is known to be neglecting Sabah all this while, and this is proven by the words and claim of Pairin, and also not forgetting those Sabah BN MPs who had blasted so much and so many times in the Parliament on the ill treatment and unfairness rendered by the Federal government to Sabah.

We always heard big announces and promises made, but at the end nothing comes through. Are we going to continue to support BN to receive such treatment? Sabahan had suffered enough, and ‘enough is enough’, it is about time that we all ditch the BN politicians who had failed their entrustment and responsibility.
