TIME BOMB TICKING IN SABAH

By : DR. CHONG ENG LEONG

THE RCI is on illegal immigrants, Project IC and phantom voters in Sabah not just on illegal paperless immigrants.

Sabahans waited in great anticipation of the announcement by Najib when he was in Sabah in the last few days. His silence on the RCI was too loud, so loud it deafened both Pairin and Dompok leaving them with a long uncomfortable face.

Pairin’s PBS had asked for this RCI since 1996 and sent ultimatum to KL last year that by year 2012 this RCI must be set up or else.

Last year Dompok wanted to meet Najib to discuss on the need to set up this RCI (as if he could not meet Najib on this matter all those past years) and threatened to quit his Federal Cabinet post if this RCI not agreed upon by Najib.

Finally it was discussed in detail on 8 February Cabinet meeting both Dompok and Maximus gleefully acknowledged this being so and stated that Najib would announce it when visiting Sabah a week after that Cabinet meeting.

Najib knew very well about the predicament faced by Sabahans. He said in year 2000 that the problem was very serious. In 2006 he was appointed the chairman of the Federal Cabinet Committee on Illegal Immigrants in Sabah which was first formed in year 2000.

Najib set up in 2010 a Laboratory on Management of Illegal Immigrants in Sabah with Muhyiddin as chairman. But then BN was only looking at the paperless illegal immigrants; BN had failed miserably even on this.

Yes, Najib is well versed with this time bomb ticking in Sabah ready to explode anytime. But he chose not to act accordingly and seem quite happy to let Sabah’s sovereignty rights taken over by foreigners.

I call upon Pairin, Maximus and Dompok please save Sabah and therefore our country Malaysia by replacing the BN Federal Government. Think of your future generations, and ours. Please stop being manipulated by the Federal BN government.

We all know the task of solving this contentious issue is an onerous one and the outcome is about Sabah’s sovereignty within Malaysia. You are in the position to help Sabah and we Sabahans need your help on this otherwise, you would be a focus of contempt to our future generations.
