HAWKERS STALLS OR FROG POND?

INSPECT.....Edward and Stephen inspecting the back lane of Foh Sang shops.

THE KOTA KINABALU Taman Foh Sang shops back lane hawkers requested assistance from the Kota Kinabalu Member of Parliament Hiew King Cheu’s office to seek help from the KK City Hall regarding the poor condition and water lodged road surface. This is causing them and their morning customer great inconveniences.

Recently, the new open shed had been completed and leaving the bad road surface unattended to. There are some pot holes and puddles of water which made the customers difficult to walk on to buy their meat and vegetables.

Sabah DAP Vice chairman Edward Ewol Mujie and his assistant Stephen Yarman went to inspect the location, and they saw the pools of water and the bad road surface. They said it would be an easy job for DBKK to resurface the road and it would take a few hours only. DBKK was informed and they said the work to resurface the area will commence soon.

The hawkers here also requested for some lights to be fixed for them. This is because the lights provided by MP Hiew is no longer useful due to the new roof of the shed is blocking the light now. It is dark to do business in the early morning hours.

The shop operators here also requested for some water stand pipes to be provided for the hawkers use. This is because the hawkers usually come to take the water from the shops and for free.

Edward said that we must improve the city even how small the matter is. It is 2012 now and we are still not up to the required standard, and there is many issue unsolved and much upgrading in the city is required.
