SINGAPORE police have arrested a 30-year-old female Malaysian who is believed to have stolen a sum of S$22,000 (RM52,800) from a man at Resorts World Sentosa (RWS).
On 6 Dec, 2011, a 38-year-old man reported to the police that his money amounting to S$22,000 had been stolen by a female suspect who had earlier befriended him at the RWS casino.
When the police arrived, the suspect was no longer at scene.
Undeterred, officers from the Clementi Police Division carried out an extensive follow -up investigation, and managed to trace and arrest the suspect at the Marina Bay Sands (MBS) hotel on Feb 23 at about 2.15am.
If found guilty of the offence of Theft in Dwelling under Section 380 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, the suspect could be punished with a maximum punishment of seven years imprisonment and also a fine. (The Straits Times)
