GEARING UP FOR ELECTION





SABAH Chief Minister, head of Sabah Umno and Chairman of Barisan Nasional, Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Aman called on all heads of divisions to strengthen the party machinery and activate the operational rooms for the upcoming general elections.

Speaking to reporters after UMNO's Liaison Committee meeting on 11 October recently Musa said that the divisions should be well-prepared to ensure Barisan National’s victory.

Also present at the press conference were Deputy Sabah Umno Liaison Chairman Datuk Seri Panglima Salleh Tun Said, its Secretary cum Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Yahya Hussin, Treasurer Datuk Hajiji Noor and Information Chief Datuk Sapawi Ahmad.

"Any threat to BN can be neutralised if we are well prepared," Musa said. He told reporters that Sabah Umno had been organizing meetings and courses in every voting district to intensify the party's preparation for the general election. Half of the 25 divisions in the state have already completed their training.

Sabah BN won 59 of a total of 60 state seats and secured 24 of the 25 parliamentary seats in the 2008 general election. Only the Sri Tanjung and Kota Kinabalu seats were lost to the Democratic Action Party or DAP. Musa is aiming for a clean sweep in the 13th general elections. (Insight Sabah)
