HOLLYWOOD SCRIPTWRITER TO SPEAK AT WORKSHOP





KUCHING: Hollywood-based scriptwriter Yasu Tanaka will present the first lecture in a series of free film workshops at Panggung Experimen Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) this month and next month.

He will speak on the areas of basic format in storytelling, story analysis techniques and applying the basic format to different media.

He will also share practical tips to encourage the storytelling and film making development of participants.

The workshops will present the craft of storytelling in a mathematical and logical manner.

Budding filmmakers and students will also learn how to develop their story commercial by using the MAP navigation concept, which will make their writing much easier.

The workshops will alsoaddress topics such as documentary film production and film appreciation.

Organised by World Communications Network Resources, Unimas and the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (Finas), the workshops are in conjunction with the Asean International Film Festival and Awards 2013.
