SABAH DAP Vice Chairman
Edward Ewol Mujie said that again the residents of Taman Wangsa Telipok and
other resident have complained to him that the Jalan Telipok Lama was not
repaired properly and now in bad state.
Edward said when he visited
the said road he observed that the big hole that he has reported a few days ago
has been filled with stone dust and when the vehicles passed through the said
road it has created a sort of big “valley” and now impassable to vehicles.
But Edward said that only a
few days ago the Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department Datuk
Edward Khoo, Assemblyman of Inanam Datuk Johnny Goh and other government
officers from the authorities concerned visited the area after he highlighted
in the media.
They blamed the quarry
operator for damaging the road but how can they put the blame on to the quarry
operator because the road was not build to withstand heavy vehicles, Edward
said. What they should have done is to
find out whether the road has been built according to specification and why it
was not repaired properly, Edward continued.
Edward said he can’t
understand how this sort of problem can’t be solved as this is only a small
portion of the road but instead he said put the blame to the quarry operator,
Edward said to his understanding, all roads that has been built supposed to be
used by all type of vehicles.
Edward reminded the
authorities that Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, the Prime Minister while in Sabah
few days ago said that whatever the government promised to the people, it will
be fulfilled. Hence, he said this road
must be repaired properly immediately.
