REGISTERING.....Job
seekers registering with Sabah Job Centre at the Job Fair in Suria.
BEAUFORT residents in search
of jobs will have the opportunity to meet with an array of employers this
Saturday. As part of its strategy to bring career opportunities to the rural
folks, the Ministry of Resource Development and Information Technology will
host its 1st ever mini job fair in the district on the 20th October.
According to the Ministry's
Permanent Secretary Bruno Vun, more than a dozen companies and government
agencies would take part in the day-long fair at Dewan Pa' Musa from 8.00 am -
4.00 pm.
Community Development and
Consumer Affair Minister Azizah Dun, will officiate the launching of the fair.
The fair brings together
employers, recruiters and training institutions to meet with prospective job
seekers or trainees. It provides a convenient location for school leavers and
job seekers to meet prospective employers and attend their first interviews.
The fair also provides an opportunity for companies to conduct recruitment as
they can reach out to a wider selection of potential workforce in a single day.
Apart from the interview
sessions, officers from the Sabah Labour Department will be available to guide
job seekers in preparing resumes properly.
Attendees are encouraged to
be properly attired and to bring copies of their resumes including education
certificates.
Last year more than 100
companies participated in the Ranau and Kota Kinabalu job fairs, offering
various jobs from entry-level to high-level management positions. Tambunan
hosted a similar mini fair in June this year. (Insight Sabah)
