SAPP YOUTH WING SLAMMED PM

SAPP Youth Wing Kota Kinabalu Zone, slammed the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak for his arrogant remark by proceeding with the RM5 billion Warisan Merdeka landmark (100-storey building), says its assistant secretary John Stephen (Picture).

John Stephen also contended that a lot of mega projects that has been announced by the Federal government especially in Sabah such as Kaiduan, Tambatuon Dam and Coal-powered Plant in Lahad Datu are not well accepted by the people.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak insisted to proceed with the project and admitted there are more than 10,000 people of Malaysia signed petition from different works of life rejecting his proposal in recent budget to show their protest.

“This showed how ignorant the Prime Minister to the people’s plea and is not aligned with his 1Malaysia concept “Rakyat Didahulukan Pencapaian Diutamakan”. The money should be spent on the people’s need”, says John Stephen.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak also quoted that the project will be 100 per cent financed by Pemodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) and confirmed by Tan Sri Hamad Kama Piah Che Othman, President and Group Chief Executive who dismissed it by saying it was not sourced from its unit trust funds and the government.

“The people has the right to know from where the RM5 billion funding came from if it is not from its unit trust fund”, says John Stephen. He also questioned why it was tabled and included in the recent budget when it was fully funded by Permodalan Nasional Berhad.

“We certainly don't need another white elephant just like the PKFZ issue. The people’s money will surely be at stake”, says John Stephen in supporting Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) Information Chief, Chong Pit Fah’s objection of the 100-storey building.
