UNPLEASANT SMELL AT INANAM DRAINS

INSPECT….Jeffrey and Junz inspect the blocked drain behind the shoplot.

INANAM residents have been tolerated living in an unhealthy environment with the unpleasant smell for months. The drains behind Visa Light Industrial Centre Shoplot, Kolombong were blocked due to the broken sewerage pipe few months ago. They have complaint to the authority but no action has been taken to solve the problem.

Jeffery Kumin, Sabah DAP Seppangar Chief after receiving the complaint, together with Junz Wong, DAP KK Youth Parliament liaison committee Chief went to inspect the broken sewerage pipe. He urged DBKK to act immediately as such environment is unhealthy to the general public and stagnant dirty drain will help grow mosquitoes and other bacterial outbreak.

The shop owner Mr Lai, said, "We have made complaints to DBKK about the blocked drain and the broken waste water piping behind the shop. It cause very bad smell and has also affected the shop’s toilet. DBKK did not take any action after we had made the complaint by email a month ago.”
