AN EGG-LAYING ROOSTER

A rooster has laid 14 eggs in two months. According to poultry farmer Geng Daoxing in Liaocheng of Shandong, China, he bought 16 male chickens in June last year.

In Dec 14 last year, Geng found some spoilt eggs in the cage, so he separated the birds to see which one had laid the eggs.

The rooster weighing 3kg has a white feather and an extra toe. It has laid 14 eggs, so far and the eggs were bigger than those laid by hens.

Experts told China Daily that the rooster might have originally been a hen but changed to a male. They said it could be that the bird has two different genital systems. (Agencies)
