JAINAB DEADLY WRONG ON KEBAGU ROAD

BAD…. Edward and KK MP Hiew visiting the bad road Jalan Kebagu, behind 1-Borneo.

THE DISPUTE on the Jalan Kebagu behind 1-Borneo on whether it is a total negligence to upgrade or even to maintain the bad road has become an important issue before the fore coming 13th general election. This reflected the irresponsible attitude and slackness of Datuk Jainab Ahmad, the people representative of the area.

The assemblywoman Jainab is not only refusing to accept her fault on not responding to the needs of the people here, but also creating smoke screen to cover herself up for not taking care of the area and its people who had supported her in the past.

She claimed she has been working hard to get the Jalan Kebagu upgraded and sealed, and the JKR confirmed that the work will start before end of this year with a cost of RM 20 million for the 6 KM road.

Edward Ewol Mujie, the Sabah DAP vice chairman regretted on what Jainab had said about her claiming that the road is damaged by the lorry and mini buses in the area. Edward said the road is built for the vehicles which including lorry and buses, and it is essential that they need this road and the road must be serviceable.

The bad road condition had caused them heavy repair on their vehicles. They claimed that they are very disappointed with their assemblywoman. It is a shame for Jainab to say she had been working to get this road upgraded since she became the state assemblywoman in 2004. What happened to her request and why until now there is no work done, and only when Sabah DAP brought up the issue.

It is not logical for her to announce a RM20 million upgrading work on this road is to be carried out by JKR while it is still in the process of tendering. How can she know the figure is set at RM20 million before the tender is finalized on the 14th November.

This must be another BN negotiated or direct award job to the BN contractor. She also said that she has been putting stone on the road using Barisan Nasional (BN) funds. Edward wanted her to clarify whether it is BN money or rather it is the peoples’ money.

Edward said he was a senior staff of the MPKK/DBKK before retirement, and during the MPKK time Jainab was one of the councilors, under any foreseeable circumstances the broken road will definitely do not need 7 long years to be upgraded.

If the BN and Jainab had put in emphasis and more work, this short 6 KM road could have been upgraded without difficulties. This is what we called lack of “political will”, but it looks like Jainab is merely looking for an election win, and forgotten about the people here.

Edward hits back on Jainab’s accusation that DAP only knows how to complain and see no action from them, and only seeking cheap publicity. He said why not let Pakatan Rakyat or DAP to manage the State government in Sabah, and we will show you how we can improve the situation that can not be done by the BN.

The Kebagu road is a typical example that after 7 years Jainab couldn’t get it sealed but turned to blame the lorry and buses here. Edward further said that if the road if not for the use of cars, lorry and buses, then what is it for?

Jainab said the road is Jalan Kibagu and not as Jalan Kebagu. Edward advices her to go and check with the Kampong Kebagu and its SK Kebagu at the end of the road. If DAP is wrong, then she will have to go and tell the Ministry of Education to change the name of the school, and also the name of the Kampong. As the kampong folks said she was hardly seen in the area even though she is the elected assemblywoman since 2004.
