THE LDP Divisions in Sandakan and LDP as a whole in Sabah largely remain intact despite the recent pull out from some of its disgruntled members that include the current Deputy Chief Minister of Sabah cum Minister of Youth and Sports, Datuk Peter Pang En Yin.
In an impromptu gathering with more than 500 members in Sandakan, Datuk Liew Vui Keong, the Party's President urges the members to continue to unite under the flagship of the Party and to move forward as one united force.
"This is the time where we have to to stand united as one Party and one force despite the onslaught by some disgruntled Ex-members who had recently resigned. One or two of those who had left us recently have worked hand in hand to try to disturb the stability of the Party by bribing and promising some financial interests and positions to them. I am thankful that the great majority of those members who were being approached are not interested and rejected them outright. This goes to show the maturity of our LDP members who understand the cause and struggle of the Party."
The LDP President also lamented on these people and sympathized with their belittlement when he said that
"My sympathy goes to these little group of people for they have earned disgust and disrespect not only from the Party's members but the public at large. We and the general public know the little things that these little people are doing. They used all dirty means to lure our Party's members but they have forgotten that in the 21 years of our existence as a political party, we have nurtured the culture of loyalty, dedication and perseverance. We are simply L.D.P. i.e. loyal, dedicated and persevere."
In paying growing tribute to the L.D.P. who are unperturbed by the actions of this small group of little people, Datuk VK Liew said that;
"I am proud of you and salute each and every one of you. Because of your loyalty, dedication and perseverance, LDP has grown even stronger and even strengthen by the recent turn of events. I am indeed grateful to the Almighty for letting these things happened because they have not only made us matured and persevered but have strengthened our faiths."
"We will continue to march in one united force and in one voice as we sail in one ship. We have nothing to fear. We can walk with our heads high. We must continue to serve the people without fear and favors, to shine upon their lives, to give them hope and to give them light and justice. Less talks and more actions,” Datuk Liew said as he ended his speech with a rousing shouts of support from the party members present that include the central Youth and Wanita chiefs.
