CHINESE 'TANTRIC SEX CENTRE' SHUT DOWN

COAXING.....The centre is suspected of brainwashing members and coaxing them into promiscuous sex.

POLICE have busted a 'Tantric sex centre' in China where members were brainwashed and coaxed into promiscuous sex as a therapy to relieve tension.

The centre, based in a dilapidated house on a mountain in southern Guangdong province, was raided after a Yangcheng Evening News reporter pretended to be interested in the tantra courses and enrolled.

According to his report, the school charged very high prices for some "advanced courses" because the students could have sex with each other.

A 21-day course with accommodation was priced at 100,000 yuan (RM48,813) per person.

THERAPY.... A tantric sex therapy session in progress. The school had reportedly attracted at least 100 members for its recent programmes

A woman surnamed Cheng, who had been responsible for recruiting new students, has been taken into police custody, but the school's founder Qin Mingyuan, known as the 'master and mentor' to his students, remains at large.

Records from Cheng's computer showed the facility had attracted at least 100 members for its recent programmes, most of them office workers or business professionals from across the country, including from Shanghai and Macau.

Tantra is a doctrine of enlightenment in ancient India. It combines magical and mystical elements of Hinduism and paganism and involves erotic rites. (Agencies)
