ROAD AT TAMAN LAVENDER NOT FOR HUMAN?

THE SABAH DAP Kudat Branch Chief, Alex Wong recently paid a visit to Taman Lavender due to complaints made by some residents in the area that the road within the area never maintain for a long, long time.

The roads at Taman Lavender, Kudat are constructed below standard and are now having pot holes every where even though the residents have just moved into the housing estate not so long ago. They are now badly in need for repairs and resurfacing.

The residents in the area are complaining that they have to bear the inconveniences of getting bumpy drives coming in and out of their homes every day. It is also causing unnecessary wear and tear to the vehicles (tires and suspension system).

These have caused them to take an extra drives to the gasoline station to check their tire pressures and some of them had to check the vehicle tires alignment and balancing.

Some residents are saying that they have just moved in and only after a few months and the rains, pot holes began to appear. Then the pot holes begin to get bigger and bigger. These pot holes start to appear on every road. They demanded that the developer do something about the situation because it is not fair for the residents to suffer such inconveniences.

Wong asked, “How could the developer allow the contractor to construct the road at such a low standard and let it be passed?” He added that the developer should have asked his inspector to do a proper inspection and checking before making the payment approval because it is not proper to allow the contractor to get paid for doing such a poor job.

He is sure that there is a minimum standard specified in the contract for the road construction in the area and there is still a warranty retention sum for the road construction if the warranty period has not expired. Otherwise it is for the developer to ensure that the roads are repaired and resurfaced.

Alex Wong said that the developer and the contractor must do something to rectify the situation as soon as possible to be fair to the people who live in the area.

  5. tidak perlulah sampai buat andaian kononnya jalan itu bukan untuk manusia.. bukannya jalan itu terputus atau tidak boleh dilalui langsung oleh kenderaan..
