THIEF WHO LEFT HIS PHOTOS ON PHONE

A WAITER in Beijing, China, has been arrested for theft, thanks to the photographic evidence he left behind.

The man, surnamed Zhao, stole a cellphone and 2,000 Yuan (RM954) from a colleague at the changing room of their workplace on Dec 15, last year.

He used the phone to take a few photographs of himself. Later, the management of the restaurant carried out an internal probe into the theft.

Worried that he might be arrested, Zhao secretly returned the cellphone to it's owner a few days later. In a hurry, he forgot to delete his pictures.

When the colleague found Zhao's pictures, dated Dec 17, in his phone, he suspected something was amiss and called the police. Zhao has been charged for theft at Xicheng People's Court in Beijing. (Beijing Morning Post)
