TWITTER LAUNCHES SECTION FOR MUSICIANS

TWITTER has launched a new section aimed at musicians to fill the void left by MySpace.

The microblogging site has provided a comprehensive guide for artists to help them get the most out of their accounts.

MySpace was previously the leading social network for bands and recording artists, but the site's popularity has dwindled in recent years.

Lady Gaga, who reportedly earns an estimated US$30 million every year from her Twitter page, is the first tweeter to surpass 20 million followers earlier this month.

Twitter's guide recommends that musicians include photos in their tweets, create official hashtags for their tours and reply to their fans. (digitalspy)
