BAR OWNERS NABBED FOR CHILD PROSTITUTION

NABBED...Heinrich Lutz Meyer and his Thai wife Khun Tipaporn were nabbed in an undercover operation.

THAI police have arrested a German bar owner in Pattaya and his local wife who are believed to be involved in human trafficking and underage prostitution.

Police Lieutenant General Panya told the media that Heinrich Lutz Meyer, 61 and his Thai wife, Khun Tipaporn, 34, the joint owners of the Albatros Club, were nabbed in an undercover operation on Friday.

Undercover foreign operatives of local police were sent into the bar and paid 2,500 Baht (RM246) in exchange for sexual services of girls aged 17 and 14.

The marked bank notes were handed over to the police. Another group of policmen then moved in and found more underage girls working at the bar.

Both owners are expected to charged with a variety of offences including providing minors for sexual services. (pattayaone)
