TUARAN RUBBISH BINS MISPLACED

BINS....Liew, Edward, Stephen and Edwin inspecting the rubbish bins placed on open streets.

THE RUBBISH community bins in the Tuaran town centre is seen every parked on the street corners and on the car parking lots. The people here felt that the bins are placed at the very inappropriate positions which brought many problems and creating nuisance to the public places.

The big community bins in Tuaran town are taking up many car parking lots which are in high demand, and the motorist have complained a lot. The worst situation is those placed in front of the shops causing foul smell and over spilled rubbish made the place looks filthy and dirty.

The Sabah DAP Tuaran Chief Peter Liew Fui Ken has received many complaints from the people here, and they requested him to bring the matter up with the authorities, and to highlight the matter in the newspaper so that the Tuaran District Council can take note on this pressing matter.

Peter Liew said this situation has been long existed in Tuaran, and yet the council has not taken any action. He said the rubbish bin should not be placed so closed to the shop and in the front of the market. These bins is giving out so much bad smell and making the road surface filled with foul water.

The bins in the Tuaran Market should be moved to the back of the market in proper rubbish cubicles with doors and roof. At the moment, it is not acceptable to see the bins sitting in the open air and uncovered.

Peter Liew urges the Tuaran District Council to quickly build the rubbish collection centre/cubicles to house the rubbish bins properly to create a more hygienic environment and he said that Tuaran is no longer a 'cowboy' town. We need a good and conducive environment to live in.

The inspection on the badly located rubbish bins areas were conducted jointly by the Sabah DAP leaders Edward Ewol Mujie the DAP Local government and Housing Bureau Chief and his assistant Stephen Yaman recently.

Edward said Tuaran is where the present Sabah Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Hajiji’s own state constituency, and the home town of the MP of Kota Belud Datuk Rahman Dalan. He wonders why the duo did nothing about the situation of the rubbish in the town and did not arrange the bins to be in proper place.

If a simple task in their door step they also can not dealt with properly, what can the people expect from them?

  1. Tong sampah ini perlulah dipindahkan ke tempat lain kerana menyebabkan orang ramai rasa kurang selesa.
