POLICE have obtained a new lead and will be able to solve the missing girl case in Bandar Sri Alam, Johor Bahru.
Johor Police Chief, Datuk Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Shariff said a special investigation team, led by Johor CID Chief, Datuk Amer Awal, had been set up to help investigating the disappearance of five-year-old Nurul Nadirah Abdullah.
"Based on solid evidence, we know the girl is still alive. Police have been searching in 23 locations in Johor and Kuala Lumpur, including in several drug dens, so far.
"With the new lead, we believe the case will be solved very soon," he told reporters after presenting special token of RM3,000 each to former police personnel, who had served during the emergency era, at the Johor police headquarters here today.
Nurul Nadirah, or affectionately known as Dirang, was reported to have been missing after going out to a grocery shop near her house in Seri Delima Flat, Bandar Seri Alam, at about 11am last Thursday.
So far, two men and a woman, aged between 36 and 40, had been remanded until tomorrow to facilitate in the investigation. (Bernama)
