POLICE in Susong, China have arrested the leader of a robbery gang who raped two elderly women in seperate incidents.
Two other members of the gang, believed to be responsible for more than 100 break-ins and robberies in Susong city, Anhui province, since 2008.
Its leader, identified only as Ye, was said to have raped a 69-year-old woman before robbing her off 450 yuan (RM215) on June 11, 2010.
On Oct 24 the following year, he was again alleged to have raped another woman, also 69, during a break-in.
After a series of surveillance and investigation, police finally tracked Ye and his gang members. On Feb 27, police finally arrested the four suspects in separate operations. Ye has admitted to raping the women after a DNA test. (Agencies)
