WARISAN TRADISI MURUT PERLU DIDOKUMENTASI



KHAZANAH warisan dan tradisi suku kaum Murut perlu dibukukan dan dokumentasikan supaya dapat ditonton dan diwarisi oleh generasi akan datang. Ahli Parlimen Tenom, Datuk Raime Unggi, berkata khazanah warisan suku kaum Murut yang penuh dengan keunikan perlu dibukukan sebagai satu sejarah dan menjadi rujukan bukan sahaja oleh suku kaum ini sendiri tetapi juga masyarakat dari luar.

“Jika ia tidak dibukukan atau disimpan dalam bentuk rakaman lambat laun ia akan pupus dan tidak dapat diwarisi oleh generasi akan datang,” katanya semasa berucap merasmikan upacara makan adat ‘saluang’ pada hari ketiga sambutan Pesta Kalimaran ke-10, 2012 yang dihoskan oleh etnik Murut Kolor kelmarin.

Raime berkata, generasi muda pada hari ini kurang mengetahui khazanah warisan suku kaum Murut kerana ia semakin kurang sambutan dikalangan golongan muda.

Hadir sama Presiden Persatuan Murut Sabah (PMS), Datuk Rubin Balang; Pembantu Menteri Kepada Ketua Menteri, Datuk Radin Malleh; Pengerusi Lembaga Kebudayaan Negeri, Datuk Wances Angang; Pegawai Daerah Tenom, Siriman M.F Basir; Timbalan Presiden Persataun Murut Sabah, Datuk Taimin Lumaing; Ketua Daerah , OKK David Jani, ketua-ketua jabatan dan pemimpin-pemimpin masyarakat di kawasan ini.

Dalam masa yang sama Raime turut menyarankan supaya Lembaga Kebudayaan Negeri Sabah dapat mempromosikan makanan tradisi suku kaum Murut di peringkat antarabangsa.

Katanya, terdapat makanan tradisi suku kaum Murut yang boleh ditonjolkan seperti jaruk ikan dan beberapa makanan lain yang diproses tahan lama.

Menyentuh “saluang” Raime berkata, ia adalah satu majlis yang diadakan oleh suku kaum Murut pada zaman dahulu mendapat hasil tuaian padi melimpah.

Majlis ini katanya, adalah satu kesyukuran oleh masyarakat sekampung apabila hasil padi dan lain-lain tanaman mereka memuaskan.

“Mereka mengadakan majlis ini dan mengundang masyarakat dari kampung yang lain sebagai tetamu yang mereka raikan,” jelasnya.

Sementara itu Ketua Kampung Bamban Bungkak Dawat 52, berkata, pada zaman majlis “saluang” diadakan pada masa lapang iaitu selepas menuai dan mengumpulkan padi.

Pada masa inilah katanya, masyarakat sekampung mengadakan ‘saluang’ yang bukan sahaja masa mereka untuk berehat dan bersuka ria di samping merapatkan hubungan kekeluargaan di kalangan masyarakat kampung lain yang menjadi tetamu yang diraikan.

“Pada tahun berikutnya giliran kampung lain yang menjadi tetamu pula akan menjadi tuan rumah kerana majlis ‘saluang’ diadakan secara timbal balas,” kata Bungkak.

Seorang lagi pemimpin masyarakat Justin Kapusoh 50, berkata, majlis ‘saluang’ juga bertujuan menyatupadukan masyarakat Murut pada zaman dahulu kerana semasa mengadakan majis ia memerlukan semangat kerjasama di kalangan masyarakat sekampung.

Ini katanya, kerana semasa mengadakan salung, ia melibatkan persediaan yang banyak untuk mencari binatang buruan di hutan dan menangkap ikan di sungai untuk keperluan lauk pauk semasa majlis berjalan antara dua hingga tiga hari.

“Pada majlis ini pelbagai jenis makanan akan dihidangkan dan acara minum tapai dijalankan yang didahului dengan acara sabung ayam persahabatan,” jelasnya. (ST)

    1. sekarang ini pun ramai golongan muda yang sudah lupa dengan bahasa suku kaumnya.. bagi mereka memadai sekadar memahaminya.. ini yang perlu dirisaukan oleh persatuan2 yang memperjuangkan kelangsungan suku kaum di negeri ini..

  6. bukan sahaja warisan daan tradisi kaum Murut, warisan tradisi kaum2 lain jg perlu didokumentasikan. dgn ini baru seluruh warisan yang ada di Sabah dpt diperkembangkan.

Ongkili said the cultural practices preserved included the traditional performances, children''s story-telling in the Kadazandusun-Murut language, traditional sports, traditional food and costumes, Sugandoi (singing competition) and Unduk Ngadau or beauty pageant that reminded the Kadazandusun-Murut people of the sacrifices of the legendary Huminodun, the padi spirit.
