KENINGAU: Chairman of
Angkatan Amanah Merdeka (Amanah) Keningau, Paul Kadau condemned the statement
made by Gerakan Nasional Sabah (Ganas) that the 20-Points is merely an 'active
fiction imagination' of somebody.
He said the statement by
Ganas co-ordinator, Zainal Ajamain, was disturbing and ignored Sabah's past and
all its people.
"Zainal said the
20-Points is only an active fiction imagination of somebody and that it has no
legal nor constitutional basis but at the same time agreed that the 20-Points
is mentioned in several articles," he said.
He said Amanah Keningau is
firm on its stand that the 20-Points is and will continue to be valid, relevant
and exist for as long as there is a nation called Malaysia. "So, the
statement made by Zainal which clearly stated that the 20-Points are
non-existent is like saying that our country, Malaysia also never existed and
this could be a very dangerous thing to say," he said.
Kadau challenged any
individual who believes that the 20-Points is invalid to come to Keningau and
destroy the Oath Stone, which is still standing and is the pride of the people
of Sabah, especially in Keningau.
He said Amanah would be
contacting its lawyers for legal advice before proceeding with a police report
and file a summons at the Native Court for the purpose of sogit.
20 Points forever valid!
ReplyDeleteperkara 20 pasti masih sah, ia perkara penting bagi Sabah.
ReplyDeletetanpa perkara 20, Malaysia takkan wujud.
ReplyDeletepihak lain cakap masih sah, pihak yang lain cakap tidak sah...mana satu ni?
ReplyDeletekalau sah, sila beri penjelasan...kalau tidak sah, beri penjelasan...lepas tu, buat penyelidikan semula dan semakan daripada kerajaan british kerana pasti dokumen perjanjian malaysia masih dalam simpanan mereka..
ReplyDeleteThe spirit of the 20 points will continue to live on.
ReplyDeleteThe 20 points agreement is internationally acknowledged, it is still valid.
DeleteWhy only now want to speculate the validity of 20 Points?
ReplyDelete20 points always valid and relevant.
ReplyDeleteAmanah saman la pihak2 yang cuma menafikan kewujudan 20 perkara.. lagi bagus jika Amanah saman kerajaan persekutuan jika pertubuhan ini juga beranggapan bahawa kerajaan persekutuan gagal atau sengaja membelakangkan perjanjian 20 perkara..
ReplyDeleteThe content and spirit of the 20 points document on Sabah’s safeguards for the formation of Malaysia is forever valid and relevant by virtue of them being incorporated in the Inter-Governmental Committee (IGC) report and Federal Constitution.
ReplyDeleteThe 20 points made in a memorandum by seven political parties in 1962 and submitted to the IGC was not an official government document but purely a political memorandum.
ReplyDeleteHowever, what became official were the deliberations and adoption of the points by the IGC and their eventual incorporation into the Malaysia Agreement and Federal Constitution.
ReplyDeleteHowever, there were now less than 10 matters in the original 20 points that remained relevant.
ReplyDeleteThe rest especially those provisions pertaining to finance, language, religion and education have been willingly surrendered by previous government leaders of Sabah to the federal government, or they (the points) had lapsed due to time relevance.
ReplyDeleteTherefore, when we talk about the 20 points today we need to be specific about which particular points we are referring to.
ReplyDeleteSo we should be talking about strengthening the Federation and enhancing territorial integration because these were the political commitment of the Sabah founding leaders of the Federation.
