EDGY.....Miss
Universe Malaysia 2012 Kimberly Leggett is in love with Jovian Mandagie's edgy
designs.

"YOU wouldn't normally
see a baju kurung with a military-inspired edge, but you do with Jovian's
designs," said the 19-year-old beauty queen. "You see tough elements
that you wouldn't see on an elegant piece of cloth. He's got a masculine edge
to his clothes."
She spoke proudly about the
Jovian outfit she modelled at his show this week. "The bottom skirt has
sequins. On top it's a fully sequined, almost bronzy tone. I liked it and chose
it at the spur of the moment."
Kimberly, a Penang girl of
English-Dutch-Eurasian descent, added that she finds Jovian's designs
"challenging". She said, "It's something you'd wear for the
latest extravagant event."
And events don't get more
extravagant than a fashion show at an old military airport. Some 300 people, including
Ning Baizura and actress Zahida Rafik, watched Kimberly and other models parade
in Jovian fashion in an aircraft hangar.
There were 30 outfits in
all, featuring clothes for trendy Muslimah women. The collection, named Blossom
Raya, mainly used pastel colours like dusty pink, powder blue and champagne.
Jovian's focus for the line was "simple yet elegant" and affordable,
with prices ranging from RM180 to RM380.
It had long been a dream of
Jovian's to share his passion and creativity with women of any age, status and
group. "Creativity would be wasted if you don't share it," he
believes.
The collection will be
available on 15th July on zalora.com.my and at First Lady Boutiques around
Kuala Lumpur, Shah Alam, Penang, Johor Baru and Singapore.
