A GALA NIGHT TO SAY THANK YOU

OFFICERS and staff of the Ministry of Resource Development and Information Technology including its departments and agencies had their annual dinner at the Tanjung Aru Shangri-la Resort grand ballroom recently. It was a fun-filled night of popcorns, make-do clowns and games that lent a carnival atmosphere to what was normally a more subdued spa resort.

Minister of Resource Development and Information Technology, Datuk Dr. Yee Moh Chai and wife joined in the fun and game and he took the opportunity to thank all officers and staff for their "hard work" during the year.

Also the state's Deputy Chief Minister, Yee, also gave out certificates of appreciation to some staff for outstanding performance in 2011. Yee said, "Although some employees have been singled out for recognition and to receive certificates and prizes from the management, those who have not received recognition should not feel disheartened.

"You are all very important to us and I would like to say thank you one and all for your hard work and invaluable contributions to the ministry."

The Minister told the gathering that the Ministry was allocated with more funds for 2013 and can look forward to more activities in its sphere of responsibility, that is in ICT and human resource development.

He especially thanked the various institutions that have worked in partnership with the Ministry to provide training programs for young people as well as for older people who wish to be part of what he called "knowledge based" society.

Dr. Yee also said that his Ministry would continue to help jobseekers find jobs as the Ministry have done through the job fairs in the past.

Also present at the gala night were  Assistant Minister, Datuk Jainab Ayid, Permanent Secretary, Bruno Vun and wife, Dato Harun Ismail and the Chief Executive Officer of Sabah Energy Corporation Sdn Bhd (SEC) (Insight Sabah)
