'X' FACTOR IN NEXT GENERAL ELECTION

IN THE SOON coming 13th general election in Malaysia, millions of voters will have to exercise their voting rights to decide, to elect their representatives and their choice of political parties to run the new government for them.

This is crucial because the decision made by the voters, no matter singly or jointly will determine the well being of the country for the next term for five years. No matter it is going to be good or bad, it is all in your hand.

The Malaysian Election Commission (SPR) requires the voters to mark on the ballet papers (both State and Parliamentary seats) with a simple 'X' on the space / box provided next to the name of the candidate whom you want to elect. This is signifying that you want to elect him to be your representative, and at the same time surrendering your power and entrusting the person to stand in as your true representative in the position as a state assemblyman or member of Parliament for the following term of 5 years. Simply, the elected member is actually your "manager" in the constituency.

The elected representative will then has to fulfill his pledges and promises to serve to his best ability for the people, and so as the political party that he belongs to, and to perform to produce results, and do the right thing for his bosses (voters).

The KKMP Hiew King Cheu said many people especially the younger voters still not fully understand the real meaning of marking the 'X' on the ballot papers, that is why it is necessary to explain in details.

It is not as simple as just marking the 'X' after the name, but we should see whether that person is trustworthy, able to perform, his records and credibility etc and all must be taken into consideration. This is exactly like the companies when they are selecting to engage their "managers".

Therefore, during this coming general election, make double sure that the person and the party that you are going to mark the 'X' on, is not someone who cannot be a "good manager"! Tell your friends and relatives about this and we will elect a good, clean, straight, and creditable new government for Malaysia.

We don't want to repeat the history on having a corrupt government and a government who never keep their promises. Enough is enough, it is time to change and to bring in a new groups of manager who can bring a better future prospect in Sabah and Malaysia.

If the existing 'managers' are no good, it is better to sack them, otherwise we will continue to suffer losses. Sabah is losing money and we are among the poorest state in Malaysia. Thus, think wisely when we go into the polling centre before you mark the 'X'. The future of Sabah and Malaysia is in your hand. (DAP Media)
