PUTRAJAYA : The Tribunal for
Consumer Claims Malaysia today ordered AirAsia to refund a Medan, Indonesia
one-way fare worth RM646 to a private secretary to a minister.
Zoolihsan Ahmad, 37, private
secretary to Domestic Trade, Cooperative and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri
Ismail Sabri Yaakob filed the claim on May 28, after his May 20 flight was
postponed indefinitely preventing him from going to Medan on a working trip
with the minister.
“I received an AirAsia text
message at 12.20pm stating the 1.40pm flight had been postponed to 8.40pm,” he
told reporters outside the tribunal today.
After checking in at the Low
Cost Carrier Terminal later that same day he found out that the flight had been
delayed again and the airline staff were unable to confirm a definite departure
time or reason for the delay.
“I contacted the minister
and he informed me to cancel my trip due to the flight being postponed
repeatedly,” he added.
Meanwhile, a representative
of the AirAsia legal department apologised on behalf of the carrier for the
inconvenience caused and informed him that the flight was delayed due to
technical problems.
The matter was settled after
tribunal president Rehana Abd Razak ordered AirAsia to refund the fare within
seven days from tomorrow. (Bernama)
Why don't he go with MAS next time.
ReplyDeleteya..MAS boleh jadi alternatif lain kalau penerbangan AirAsia menghadapi kesulitan. kalau lagi banyak syarikat penerbangan di Sabah mungkin lebih bagus lagi.
DeleteRepeatedly postponed flight is not good for business, hope that AirAsia will improve their service after this.
ReplyDeleteWhat was the main factor for the flight delayed?
