THE MALAYSIAN identity card
issued with an expiry date which had become a hot topic among the people, and
being circulated in the Face Book or Internet.
The Kota Kinabalu Member of
Parliament Hiew King Cheu brought this up in Parliament and asked the Minister
of Home Affairs to explain on why this type of identity cards with an expiry
date had been issued.
The Minister gave a reply
explained that there is only three type of identity cards being issued by the
Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara (JPN), and that is MYcard, MyPR, and MyKAS. These
are issued under the Act 5(3) of the National Registration Act 1990.
The blue card, MYcard is
issued to Malaysian citizen only. The red card, MyPR is issued to people who
are not Malaysian citizens but residing permanently in Malaysia. The green
card, MyKAS is a card issued to the person who is classified as a 'temporary
resident', who had come into the country legally and allowed to stay in
Malaysia through an immigration pass for a period of twelve months and above;
or a person who was born in Malaysia but his nationality cannot be ascertained
(stateless).
The expiry date is only used
and printed on the MyKAS for the purpose to identify this temporary resident
for an approved period of stay not exceeding 5 years on the issuance of the
green card. The green card is also issued to a person who has the pass and
permit approved by immigration department to stay in Malaysia for more than 12
months.
[From 1960 to 31st May, 2012
there are 1313 MyKAS had been issued to the temporary resident], the reply continued.
The KKMP Hiew said such
answer has indicated that the JPN did not do their home work properly. How can
the MyKAS being issued since 1960 when Malaysia was not even formed, and why
only a mere 1313 number for the past 52 years had been issued? Until today, many
Malaysian have not even heard of the MyKAS card.
The MP Hiew also said he has
been informed that the 'Project IC' in Sabah had been activated and in
operation again to give out MYcard to the illegals, and this time is going
around in Tanjong Aru and Pulau Gaya area.
He said, whether it is true
or false the tip-off, the authorities must immediately investigate and bring
those people involved to justices. Hiew also urges those who know and have the
information and about who, where, how and why, to come to see him. We want to
protect our country at all cost, especially for the future generations.
hal ini kena diberi perhatian dan harus diselesaikan.
ReplyDeleteWhat? A temporary ICs for illegals?
DeleteHal ini mungkin agak mengelirukan sestegah pihak. So sebelum semua pihak terkeliru better hal ini diperjelaskan.
ReplyDeleteFurther investigation is vital.
DeleteNever make any conclusion yet.
DeleteApapun janganlah hal ini sengaja diperbesarkan. Memang betul hal ini serius namun jangan sampai ia digunakan utk kepentingan pihak2 tertentu.
ReplyDeleteThorough investigation is needed.

- Tarikh luput sehingga 5 tahun
- Tiada akta untuk ke IC merah
- Tidak boleh mengundi
- Tidak boleh dapat kerja seperti orang kita
- Tidak boleh beli tanah
- Tidak boleh dapat lesen berniaga
- tidak boleh beli rumah

Apa yang dikatakan memang ada tepatnya. Maka kita perlu faham terlebih dahulu sebelum mengatakan yang bukan-bukan.
DeleteThere must be something behind the wheel and it is crucial to dig it out.
ReplyDeleteBila dekat PRU baru masalah ni dikenalpasti? sepatutnya pihak dalam JPN sedar dengan hal ni. Sepanjang masa mereka perlu buat semakan dan kemaskini.
ReplyDeleteMasalah yang dibangkitkan perlu diselesaikan
