RONALD SLAMS LDP’S CHIN

A BARISAN Nasional MP has taken to task Datuk Chin Su Phin, the deputy president of Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), over his recent attack on the State BN leadership.

Datuk Ronald Kiandee, the MP for Beluran, said no one in BN should be allowed to attack the leadership the way Chin has been doing.

“And, he (Chin) is being arrogant by saying LDP is a winnable party without mentioning the support of other BN parties.

“He has forgotten his party’s history. Just like the now defunct Akar Bersatu, LDP didn’t win any seat they contested under their own symbol but on the BN symbol,” said Ronald who is also the Deputy Parliament Speaker.

He stressed that the LDP, by attacking the Chief Minister who is also Sabah BN and Umno chief and Umno, to portray they do not need Umno’s support is mere political ego.

The party, he said, is a Chinese-based party and it needs the support of the Bumiputeras in their constituencies.

Ronald also said LDP’s recent proposal to reinstate the rotation system for the Chief Minister’s post is clear that the party wants the Chief Minister’s post again.

“They have forgotten that the rotation system which has already been scrapped long ago was for political stability. But Chin’s attack on the state BN leadership will only create instability,” he said.

Ronald added: “LDP is no ‘yes man’ in BN but Chin need not attack the State BN chief to prove that.”

The MP said if what Chin had said is not LDP’s stand, then the party president must not just keep quiet because it would reflect he is a weak leader.

“I urge the BN to censure Chin as he has gone too far in his attack on the State BN leadership,” he pointed out.

Meanwhile, Ronald said as the next general election is drawing near, all component parties should uphold the BN spirit of camaraderie and work together to ensure the ruling coalition would emerge victorious in the election again. (nst)
