FROM the few days of hearing
conducted by the RCI on Illegal Immigrants in Sabah at the Kota Kinabalu High
Court, there is valuable information being produced regarding the issuance of
the Malaysian citizenship to thousands of foreigners irrespective whether they
are legal or illegal immigrants.
The witnesses being called
by the RCI had reviewed and testified on many hidden information in this
matter. Most of these were unaware by the people in Sabah. The information
provided is shocking and many happening in the past had lastly revealed, even
after almost 40 over years undercover.
Edward Ewol Mujie, the Sabah
DAP Vice chairman said that the truth must prevail and the wrong doing should
not be covered and be swept under the carpet not forgotten about. The harm and
damage had been inflicted deeply in Sabah due to the wrong doing and greed of
some people.
He said that since the RCI
is conducting a full scale inquiry and investigation in on the matter, it is
essential that the people who had information in hand and knew what is going on
to come forward to provide proof, evident, relevant documents, and to testify
on the matter related to the issue.
This is also the
responsibility of any righteous citizen to produce proof in order to get down
to the bottom of the matter. Those who had done wrong must face the music.
As from the few days that we
learned from the newspaper on the astonishing information revealed, we really
see the seriousness of the matter, and this is definitely affecting the Sabahan
deeply as a whole.
Why are they doing this to
us and is it because of political greed and power? Our losses are uncountable
and the suffering is immense. That should be the reason and explained the
reason on the population jump during the past years. This could only be the tip
of the ice-berg, may be there are more out there.
At the mean while Edward
said he would like the RCI to extend its investigation to a wider scope and go
deeper into the matter. He believes that the investigation can produce positive
result and findings to this long outstanding matter that is the major concern
of the Sabahan. (DAP Media)
