ROGOL, HISHAMUDDIN TIDAK AKAN LETAK JAWATAN

MENTERI Dalam Negeri, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein berkata beliau tidak akan meletakkan jawatan berhubung kes tiga anggota polis yang didakwa merogol seorang wanita Indonesia di Pulau Pinang.

"Kita dah pastikan mereka dihadapkan ke mahkamah. Itu sistem negara yang kita ada dan membawa mereka ke mahkamah dengan dakwaan yang setimpal dan kutuk sekerasnya tindakan sebegini sekiranya didapati salah. Itu pendirian yang kita boleh lakukan," katanya dalam satu sidang akhbar selepas merasmikan Karnival Kerjaya Pemuda BN di Pusat Dagangan Dunia Putra (PWTC) kelmarin.

Beliau berkata demikian ketika ditanya pemberita adakah beliau akan meletakkan jawatan bagi bertanggungjawab terhadap isu tersebut.

Semalam tiga anggota polis dihadapkan ke Mahkamah Sesyen Pulau Pinang atas dakwaan merogol dan melakukan persetubuhan luar tabii ke atas seorang wanita warga Indonesia.

Hishammuddin juga 'mengelak' soalan berhubung cadangan penubuhan Suruhanjaya Bebas Salahlaku dan Aduan Polis (IPCMC) dengan mengatakan bahawa tiada formula yang boleh menyelesaikan semua masalah.

Sehubungan itu, Hishammuddin berkata, apa yang penting kini ialah memastikan mereka yang bersalah dibawa ke muka pengadilan dan dikenakan hukuman setimpal.

"Tak ada satu formula yang boleh selesaikan semua masalah . Dan saya tengok yang penting sekarang kita telus dan kita pastikan mereka yang salah dibawa ke muka pengadilan dan hukuman setimpal dikenakan pada mereka.

"Sebab kes sebegini tidak monopoli kepada pihak-pihak tertentu (seperti) polis atau agensi-agensi kerajaan sahaja," katanya.

Selain itu, ketika ditanya adakah penubuhan IPCMC tidak diperlukan, beliau berkata: "Setakat ini saya nak tengok apa yang berlaku di mahkamah dan akan ikuti kes ini secara dekat dan secara peribadi.

"Saya dah jumpa IGP (Ketua Polis Negara) dan DIGP (Timbalan Ketua Polis Negara) dan saya tak benarkan PDRM (Polis Diraja Malaysia) menyembunyikan perkara ini dari orang ramai dan sekiranya ada perkara yang perlu ditimbulkan, bawalah ke mahkamah supaya orang ramai tahu," katanya lagi.

IPCMC merupakan salah satu daripada 125 cadangan pembaikan pasukan polis yang dikemukakan Suruhanjaya Diraja Untuk Mempertingkatkan Operasi dan Pengurusan Polis Diraja Malaysia pada tahun 2005.

Suruhanjaya itu dipengerusikan mantan ketua hakim negara, Tun Mohamed Dzaidin yang mencadangkan IPCMC ditubuhkan sebelum 31 Mei 2007.

Bagaimanapun cadangan penubuhan suruhanjaya itu mendapat bantahan antaranya daripada mantan ketua polis negara, Tan Sri Musa Hassan yang mendakwa IPCMC tidak sepenuhnya adil kepada polis.
