SECURITY IS NEEDED IN TAWAU

SABAH DAP Deputy Chairman YB Jimmy Wong has vowed to serve the people of Tawau with full of commitment and dedication. With the rising criminal activities in Tawau he is now looking at setting up a Pakatan Rakyat security team.

Jimmy Wong, who is also the sole DAP representative of Sri Tanjung stated this when he met Tawau-couple Mr. Hii Hok Tong and his wife at the Sabah Medical Centre (SMC) in Damai today.

About the middle of July this year Mr Hii was badly injured by four intruders into his house. His head, back and leg was beaten which required surgery and hospitalization. He is thankful that he is still alive. A Police report has been lodged and until now there is no word from the Police of any arrest whatsoever.

Jimmy is visibly upset when Mr & Mrs Hii related the incident to him. According to YB Jimmy, PAS has set up its own fire brigade in Tawau. He said the objective of a security unit and Bomba is the same. In any incident, the relevant authority will be informed first but at the same time our security unit will react to the situation.

If the authorities arrive earlier that is good and fine, he continued. We will cooperate with the Police he assured. Jimmy also commented that Tawau crime rate should be declining since it has been declared poverty-free district by the Chief Minister Datuk Musa Aman recently. To Dr. Edwin Bosi, the declaration of Tawau as the first district to eradicate poverty is very confusing and too good to be true.
