PEDESTRIAN ALSO BUILT BY PILAK?

Dear Editor and readers,

EVER wonder why all the street pedestrian pavement in KK never last long? They easily start cracking and sinking then DBKK will call another contractor after one year or thereabouts, to re-do and reconstruct these pavements?

Surely every one can see this in KK but normally the ordinary citizens would not understand the reasons. When these pavement are constructed, as usual the boss or supervisor from the crony contractors awarded the projects are hardly around, and these works are carried out by the pilaks even on saturdays and sundays. Photos taken on Sunday.

Photo shows the ground base filling with sand or earth and compacted using the feet of the pilaks. Their shoe marks are clearly seen. These crony contractor cannot even use a small plate compactor to prepare the ground surface.

The pilaks then spread the reinforcing bars touching the ground directly and then pour concrete on top of it. For the non technical citizens the steel bars should be buried in concrete and NOT touching the soil which will make it rusty in a short period.

Once the bars are rotten, then the pavement concrete wont have any much strength and start sinking especially when some motorist climb on the payement once in a while.

49 years of Malaysia and yet this is still the standard of workmanship coming from the BN style of government because the engineers from DBKK probably will certify the works from the coffeeshop and never even seen how these works are done.

It is up to the citizens of KK to decide whether they will allow this rot to continue?

Best Regards,

JUSTICE SEEKERS
