THE
CAR parking place in Inanam New Township next to the market was closed recently
for unknown reason. This has caused a sudden decrease in the number of
available parking space in Inanam and car owners were forced to park their cars
else way.
They
complained that it is unreasonable to close the car park and without giving
reason to the people. The car park is used by many people here and it a place
where lorries and buses were parked. The car park was a place for the night
market before it was moved to the present site near the ESSO station.
The
people said this car park has been neglected until its road surface was broken
down and filled with pot holes. May be the DBKK refused to repair it and just
closed it down to stop cars from using it. The trucks and lorries can no longer
park here because its entrance were blocked by huge concrete blocks.
Edward
Ewol Mujie said that this land is part of the Inanam New Township Development
and the car park is part of the development and this is now belonging to the
shop owners and the people here and it is under the jurisdiction and control of
the DBKK. No reason that this can be stopped for the use of the people here.
It
will be unfair to take it away from the Inanam, it is their right to use this
car park because it is part of their Sale and Purchase agreement. The DBKK can
not just close the car park or even use it for other purposes. It is speculated
that the land is going to be used for some other building development.
Edward
demands the DBKK or the Mayor to explain on the reason why this car park is
closed and why it is not repaired or maintained to allow the shop owners and
people here to park their cars.
The
present car parking space is so limited in Inanam New Township and we can not
afford to have car parks being closed down for other purposes. If DBKK is
really wanted to solve the car parking problems in Inanam town, they should
consider building a multi-story car park of at least 5-storey high to
accommodate the ever increasing number of cars in Inanam.
We
also want the car park to remain as an open air car park and no building is to
be erected there. The building if erected will only jam the place with more
cars and caused congestion. The road system here can not cope for all the
additional cars. An open space is required here. We don’t want our city to be
too packed and jamming up without any open areas. (DAP Media)

DeleteWe can see from the picture above the parking lots seems to be flooded whenever it rains due to the potholes. Perhaps that is the reason why it was closed down?

ReplyDeletejadi, lebih baik tutup saja car park itu bagi mengelakkan kerosakkan yang lebih teruk oleh truck dan lori.. kalaupun car park itu dibaik pulih, tidak sampai sebulan akan rosak balik, sebab jentera berat juga menggunakan kawasan itu untuk meletakkan jentera mereka..
