MALANJUM SHOULD HEAD RCI




KOTA KINABALU: The organising committee of Sabah PKR's Duduk dan Tuntut - Tubuhkan RCI Sabah (Sit and Demand to Form Sabah RCI) on June 2 has finalised the Terms of Reference (ToR) for the above-mentioned Royal Commission for Inquiry (RCI) for submission to the King.

Dr Chong Eng Leong of Sabah PKR, said, the Commission should be established in accordance with the Commission of Inquiry Act 1950 and should have all powers and duties as provided in the Act.

The constitution of the proposed Commission, he said, should be as follows:

- The Commission shall consist of three commissioners all of whom must be Sabahans of high integrity and have ordinarily resided in Sabah for the past 10 years.

- The Commission shall be chaired by the Tan Sri Richard Malanjum, the Chief Judge of Sabah and Sarawak.

- Representations shall be granted to the State Government of Sabah, the Federal Government, all political parties, Suhakam, NGOs with a track record in the field of law, citizenship, sovereignty and human rights and Sabah Law Association (SLA).

  4. Pastikan juga ketua itu tidak berpihak kepada mana-mana pihak pun untuk memudahkan siasatan.
