Rafizi
bagaimanapun enggan mendedahkan butiran rancangan berkenaan.
ReplyDeleteCan Pakatan Rakyat explain where are they going to get the funds to allocate to the students yearly? Are they going to raise the GST or income tax on the people?
ReplyDeletePakatan mentioned before the country's oil sales is enough to provide free education. But most of the oil belongs to Sabah and Terrenganu, and the people wanted 100% of the oil royalties, can Pakatan fulfill both?
DeleteAnother sweet promise from PKR?
ReplyDeletePKR hanya janji tarang bulan saja tu.
ReplyDeleteThe education minister said they include the Kad Diskaun Siswa 1Malaysia (KDS1M) proposed at the National Students Consultative Council meeting on Nov 21 last year.
ReplyDeleteThe government listens to views, suggestions and recognise ideas of undergraduates, says Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin.
ReplyDelete"This shows that views of student leaders on matters that affect their lives are given due attention. We accepted and implemented them," he said when launching KDS1M) at Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC).
ReplyDeleteAlso present were Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Ismail Sabri Yaacob, Higher Education Minister Mohamed Khaled Nordin, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Dr Koh Tsu Koon and Human Resources Minister Dr S. Subramaniam.
ReplyDeleteMuhyiddin said the free discount card shows the government commitment to help reduce the cost of living and burden of 1.5 million undergraduates.
ReplyDeleteSo far, 31 companies and 14 cooperatives have joined the programme by offering discounts of 5-60 percent for purchases on books, stationery, clothing, food and beverages, IT products, accommodation and health.
ReplyDeleteHe urged more companies and cooperatives to join the programme for the benefit of undergraduates nationwide.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, Ismail Sabri said the discount cards would be distributed when the new academic session begins in Sept.
ReplyDelete"To date, 12 discount cards are ready and will be distributed to final year students followed by other students. We hope that they will use them wisely."
ReplyDeleteHe said undergraduates only need to show the KDS1M card together with the student card or identification card to enjoy the discounts.
ReplyDeleteThe government also plans to distribute the discount cards to foreign students in the country.
