Dear Editor,
ITS BEEN a while since I last
wrote to you in regards to Labuan. As you know a lot of things happen in this
town and nobody seems to voice out due to pressure from relative departments.
I have BCC you an email I
sent to a journalist for metro hoping that he can also do a write up. Its about
the corruption in the Marine Department that have used their power to bring in
vessels from Sabah to do their dirty work and get contracts for the luquidative
trade in the marine industries.
Hence the reason for the Marine
Director who is using his runner 'Mr Charles' also an ex employee from the Marine
Department to do business. They have been getting contacts and power to push
the local small business people to do their own profit.
A case is like a boat by the
name of Shing Wah that came from Sandakan under Mr Charles directive to operate
in Labuan of course with the blessing of the Marine Director. How can he if not,
then come to labuan without any approvals from the department and park at the
private jetty belonging to the Marine Department?
Moreover they have also
taken over other boats in Labuan under pressure from the strict routes plying
around labuan waters for their own interest. Business is under his name and of course
the directors wife also! Funny how things go around in the power struggle.
I would like if possible
with your help as always in getting the truth and investigate this issue thats
so secrectively hidden since last week as nothing has even been reported in the
local media of any such.
As usual the big fish eats
the smaller fish. Hence group like your comes up and give the local people a
breath of fresh air to know that the truth will come out as usual. the boat is
still under the remand of the Maritime and also the crews.
People involved in this case
directly or indirectly are from the Marine Department BENJAMIN, CHARLES (ex
employee), ISMAIL (Charles employee) who cordinated the vessel into Labuan. The
owner of the vessel is Mr Oliver, a chinese man from Sandakan that was kicked
out of his own town due to his involments in the drugs trade.
Best Regards.

ReplyDeleteThe drug menace is becoming more serious with the advent of sophisticated technology, which now makes it even more difficult to detect the entry of drugs.
ReplyDeleteAs a concerned and responsible society, we must act fast to prevent traffickers from taking advantage to expand their illegal activities in the State, particularly in Papar district, said Deputy Minister of Health, Datuk Rosnah Shirlin Haji Abdul Rashid.
ReplyDeleteShe believes the fight against drug is endless for as long as there is a demand, the supply and purchase will be there and this is why people today need to mobilise their resources to eradicate the drug menace that can destroy our race, religion and country.
ReplyDeleteThe Papar Member of Parliament said this when opening the “Tekad” programme organised by Pemadam Papar at the district rest house recently.
ReplyDeleteShe said the “Tekad” programme is implemented to encourage participation of the general public, especially among the fisherman community, in government campaigns to eradicate the dadah menace.
ReplyDeleteAccording to Rosnah, the government had tried to get rid of this menace for a long time already with various campaigns and activities, but these efforts have yet to achieve success as expected, she said.
She said it had been acknowledged that dadah is the number one enemy of the nation.
The government has also set a goal that by 2015, our country is to be dadah-free and had also allocated millions of ringgit for implementation of anti-dadah campaigns and eradication programmes so that the people are aware of the danger of drug abuse.
Dadah, she said, is not only harmful to the human body but it can also destroy the faith of a person. This is because when a person is taking drugs, he will become hallucinated.
Some drug addicts would even hurt members of their families, just for the money to buy drugs.
“Sometimes we also hear of the collapse of the family institution caused by drug addiction of one member of their family,” she explained.
She advises the people to look at this problem seriously by helping to educate and motivate the fishermen to work together to ensure that drug abuse would be reduced in time in the State.
