KOTA KINABALU: DAP Tanjung
Aru Chief, Datuk David Chong Ket Sui has extended an invitation to Beaufort MP
Datuk Lajim Ukin to join him in DAP or other Pakatan Rakyat components.
"I sincerely invite
Lajim to join DAP. Our door is open for him or he can also join other Pakatan
Rakyat parties, especially Parti Keadilan Rakyat, and join hands with his
brother in Beaufort," he said.
Perhaps Lajim could set up
the DAP Beaufort division to continue his struggle for the people there, said
Chong commenting on a report that Lajim had announced his resignation as the
chief for the Kerambai Kebatu Umno branch during his 57th birthday celebration
at his residence in Beaufort during the weekend.
It was also reported that
Lajim who is also Deputy Housing and Local Government Minister had recently
announced that he would not be defending the Umno Beaufort chief post and,
instead, hand it over to his deputy Isnin Aliasnih.
"Since he has announced
that he has resigned from his party post at the divisional level then I invite
him to join us in DAP," said Chong in his maiden statement after joining
DAP last month.
"He is making a very
wise decision since support for the Barisan Nasional (BN) and Umno is
waning," he said.
Chong claimed that 15 strong
Umno leaders from Sabah have had their names dropped from the potential
candidate list for the coming 13th General Election.
"They include Lajim.
But this is not a surprise because even in the last General Election in 2008
his name was also not in the list.
However, his name was
reinstated after he met with Datuk Najib Tun Razak who was then the Deputy
Prime Minister.
"I know because I was
with him at that time," said Chong who is also a former Sabah Progressive
Party (SAPP) Supreme Council member.
Chong said there would be
more chance for Lajim to fight for development for his people through Pakatan
or DAP.
"In fact, once Pakatan
forms the government there is no need to fight because many development
programmes have already been lined up for Sabah unlike now where you fight but
in the end, nothing," he said.
"In conjunction with
his 57th birthday, I wish him and his family as well as his staunch supporters
in Beaufort good health," said Chong. (DE)
ReplyDeleteLajim before you make a decision, you have to bare in mind whats is going to happen when you leave.
ReplyDeleteBut whatever decision is, it is always up to you. Hopefully you will be success and make good thing for the people in future.
ReplyDeleteDAP mahu mengambil Datuk Lajim. Aik macam lain-lain saja kalau DAP buat demikian.
ReplyDeleteDatuk Lajim still be the UMNO members. So DAP no need to invite him to join DAP.
