DAP Sabah challenges Musa
Aman to announce the quantum and date of implementation of new oil royalty
increment.
DAP Sabah is doubtful on the
sincerity on the part of Musa Aman, Chief Minister of Sabah when he announced
that the review on the oil royalty is open for discussion with the federal
government.
DAP Sabah Chief Jimmy Wong
said Musa has a short memory because it was only few days ago that he publicly
described the increment of oil royalty as “irrational”.
Jimmy Wong added that the
move by Sarawak Chief Minister Taib Mahmud to review the oil royalty with the
Federal government recently could be the main reason in Musa’s about turn on
the oil royalty.
It is a political gamble for
Musa Aman but in this case (oil royalty) he is showing to the people of his
poor quality as a political leader. He (Musa) does not have the gut to “rock
the boat” even if the issue is very important to the people of Sabah. Taib
Mahmud has taken the lead.
Jimmy who is Sri Tanjung
Assemblyman however congratulates Musa for finally coming to be realistic in as
far as the oil royalty is concerned. Jimmy reminds Musa that Pakatan Rakyat has
agreed to increase the oil royalty from 5% to 20% when it assumes power in
Putrajaya. How much can Musa get from the BN government and how far will Musa
pursue this matter?
Jimmy said he would like to
remind Musa and the BN government to quickly announce and implement the oil
royalty increment before the 13th general election. He added that if there is
any credibility in his announcement then the announcement on the quantum and
date of implementation must be made before the general election.
What we know Datuk Musa just want to discuss the royalty issues. So DAP no need to challenge Datuk Musa for nothing. Datuk Musa will do the best for that thing.
ReplyDeleteWhen the Chief Minister made the statement, the people's reaction was that they believed that the state government was doing something to correct the situation. The vice head of the Tenom Umno division, Esar Andamas said this was in line with the aspiration of the people of Sabah who wanted the state government to do something on the issue.
Delete"DAP Sabah challenges Musa Aman to announce the quantum and date of implementation of new oil royalty increment."
ReplyDeleteheran juga dengan pembangkang ni.. setiap kali kerajaan lakukan sesuatu untuk memenuhi desakan rakyat, ada sahaja pertikaian dibuat.. bila kerajaan senyap, dia minta tunjukkan pendirian. bila kerajaan tunjukkan pendirian, dia minta diumumkan. sudah diumumkan, dia pertikaikan pula keikhlasan..
"DAP Sabah is doubtful on the sincerity on the part of Musa Aman"
" DAP Sabah Chief Jimmy Wong said Musa has a short memory because it was only few days ago that he publicly described the increment of oil royalty as “irrational”."
ReplyDelete"Jimmy Wong added that the move by Sarawak Chief Minister Taib Mahmud to review the oil royalty with the Federal government recently could be the main reason in Musa’s about turn on the oil royalty. "
"He (Musa) does not have the gut to “rock the boat” even if the issue is very important to the people of Sabah. Taib Mahmud has taken the lead."
ReplyDeletewhoever taken the lead, it doesn't matter.. they are still under the same roof(BN).. no need to be the first or second..
"Pakatan Rakyat has agreed to increase the oil royalty from 5% to 20% when it assumes power in Putrajaya."
ReplyDeleteI challenge Jimmy Wong to explain on how they going to get the 20% by taking into account the operation cost and subsidy costs borne by Petronas..
"How much can Musa get from the BN government and how far will Musa pursue this matter?"
ReplyDeleteno need for Musa to answer this question since BN government need to consider a lot of thing before making a decision.. and also, BN is not like Pakatan who always making hastily promises..
We should just wait for the discussion between Sabah government and Federal government to take place and see how it goes.
ReplyDeleteJimmy Wong, don't be so impatient. The special committee haven't even begun its study on the oil royalty payments yet.
ReplyDeleteThe special committee set up by the Federal Government will take 6 months to come up with a proposal for the government, just wait and see.
ReplyDeleteHopefully Sabahans and Sarawakian will get their rightful oil rights after the discussion take place.
ReplyDeleteMany parties like UPKO are also in support of the oil royalty reviews, it is a good decision by the government.
