HERBERT IS WRONG ON HIEW

KADAMAIAN assemblyman, Herbert Timbun Lagadan recently said in the press release that KK MP Hiew King Cheu is an opportunist in exposing the issue of the much-complained 20 KM long Jalan Sayap, which leads from Kota Belud town to the remote kampongs in Sayap.

Herbert claimed that Hiew was always on the lookout to gain credit on any projects by the BN government. After hearing that the government had approved fund for the 3rd phase to upgrade Jalan Sayap, Hiew quickly went to Sayap to seek cheap publicity.

Both the State and Federal governments are aware of the people’s request to seal the Sayap road, leading to the 1st and 2nd phase being done in 2009 and 2010. He also said if Hiew is good politician then he should have acknowledged the BN’s good achievement in sealing the Tambuliou-Piasau road.

The Wanita Chief of Sabah PKR, Lukia Indan (from Kadamaian) was amused by Herbert’s comments on Hiew. Responding to Herbert’s statement that Jalan Sayap will be upgraded and sealed this year, she requested tht the Sayap villagers see for themselves whether or not this be fulfilled–let the people be the judge of his word.

Lukia added that Herbert should not have sought acknowledgement for the newly sealed Tambulion-Piasau Road, because it was only done after much complaints and news release by the Sabah DAP.

Hiew was invited by Lukia for his first visit to Kg. Sayap on a Pakatan Rakyat scheduled visit, and neither he nor the kampong folks knew that there is a project to upgrade the road. The villagers requested this longstanding bad road condition to be highlighted in the press.

Lukia reminds Herbert about the old days when PBS was in the opposition, doing the same thing by hammering the BN wrongdoings. Now PBS is in BN, they think and act differently, supporting BN with no questions asked. Why can’t they put the people’s interest first and put into action the slogan of ‘Rakyat didahulukan, Pencapaian diutamakan’ for the betterment of the Sayap villagers?

Lukia expressed disappointment with the Sabah BN government that Pakatan Rakyat has to hightlight the villagers’ difficulties to the BN government before any required attention and action is taken for the benefit of the villagers. She also stretched that Hiew is carrying out his responsibility as a MP for Kota Kinabalu, which every MP should do the same.
