REINSTATE CONRAD’S PENSION

By : UBF MEDIA

THE UBF is making an urgent call for Conrad Mojuntin’s pension to be reinstated immediately if there is no reason for its termination in the first place.

Its president, Datuk Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan said in a statement issued here today that what the government has done to him shocking.

“The implication is that if the government can do this to an ex-full minister, a member of the state cabinet, it can also do it to any ordinary citizen,” he said.

He said that the government should also be careful not to start a new issue because this can be seen as new series of injustice in Sabah.

“The government needs to explain this anomaly, because there is no provision in the Pension Act for this kind of thing to happen,” he demanded.

“Is this part of the problem of various non-payuments which has been experienced by the beneficiaries of the Welfare Department’s old folks allowance? Is this happening because the government is facing an acute shortage of money?”
