RCI, STILL AWAITING FEEDBACK ON TOR

THE FEDERAL Government wants feedback and views from the State Government and relevant parties concerned before finalising the Terms of Reference (TOR) of the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) on the illegal immigrant issue in Sabah.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Mohd Nazri Abdul Aziz said the Terms of Reference would be made public once finalised.

He said this in a written response to queries from the Kuching, Ranau, Tawau, Kota Kinabalu, Putatan and Tuaran Members of Parliament over the status of the RCI.

Mohd Nazri said Federal Cabinet had agreed to set up the RCI to investigate the issue on Feb. 8 and this was followed by the process of preparing its TOR.

To ensure the illegal immigrant problem in Sabah can be solved comprehensively, he said the TOR needs to be comprehensive and not only limited to investigation aspects.

He said apart from that, it would also cover the security, social, economic and environmental aspects.

This is to enable the Commission to present proposed permanent solution to the problem, he said. (DE)

  2. not sure yet BN would lose a sizeable chunk of votes if the RCI were to crack down on the state’s massive population of illegals...

  4. demikian juga, jika kerajaan prihatin akan masalah PATI/PADI yang dihadapi oleh Sabah, maka, kerajaan harus digesa tubuhkan RCI sebelum PRU-13
