KOTA MARUDU : Four Parti
Bersatu Sabah (PBS) branches in Matunggong were dissolved on Saturday, with
their leaders citing loss of confidence in the party's leadership.
Kg Inukiran Branch Chief,
Yasungki Tabok, claimed that party President Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan had
no stand on the choice of candidate for the Matunggong state seat, while Deputy
President Datuk Dr Maximus Ongkili had no respect for Pairin.
"Maximus is getting
rude...the choice of BN candidate for Matunggong had been agreed by Barisan
Nasional (BN) Chairman Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to be Jornah Mozihim.
"Maximus had threatened
Pairin to change and replace Jornah with one of his people, Sarapin
Magana," he claimed in a statement sent by one Asandul Mozihim.
He said the struggles of PBS
are no longer relevant for most of the branch leaders here, and urged other
members to fall out from the party and join Pakatan Rakyat (PR) through Parti
Keadilan Rakyat (PKR).
He claimed PBS is now under
the rule of Maximus who is calling the shots.
Kg Lompozou Branch Chief,
Marajam Sidin, claimed he had lost confidence in the PBS leadership, hence the
dissolution of the Lampozou branch.
The same with Kg Penampang
branch, with its leader claiming the Matunggong people rejected Sarapin as they
have had enough of him.
"Not only we will
reject Sarapin but also Maximus," he said.
More branches in the area
are expected to be dissolved soon.
