KESIHATAN ORAL DIPERLUAS KE LUAR BANDAR

PROGRAM Kesihatan Oral Kementerian Kesihatan akan menjadi pelengkap kepada usaha klinik pergigian swasta dalam menyediakan perkhidmatan pesakit luar di kawasan luar bandar, kata Timbalan Menteri Kesihatan Datuk Rosnah Abdul Rashid Shirlin.

Beliau berkata untuk tahun ini, kementerian itu mensasarkan 250 atau 88 peratus klinik akan memberi perkhidmatan pergigian pesakit luar harian memandangkan perkhidmatannya di luar bandar mampu menyumbang ke arah meningkatkan akses kepada kesihatan oral yang lebih baik.

Katanya kerajaan juga menyediakan lima Bas Kesihatan melalui Lembaga Pembangunan 1Malaysia (1MDB)dan menempatkan masing-masing sebuah bas di Selangor, Perak dan Johor, manakala dua bas ditempatkan di Pahang iaitu di Bentong dan Kuala Lipis.

"Di samping itu, terdapat sebuah Bot Kesihatan yang beroperasi di sepanjang Sungai Baram, Sarawak, manakala dua bot dirancang akan digunakan di Sungai Kinabatangan, Sabah dan Sungai Rajang, Sarawak.

"Ia dirancang khusus untuk menyediakan perkhidmatan pergigian kepada penduduk di luar bandar seperti Orang Asli dan pekerja estet, yang selama ini menghadapi kesulitan untuk mendapatkan penjagaan pergigian," katanya ketika berucap pada majlis pelancaran Bulan Kesihatan Oral Rabu. (Bernama)

  1. A good move from the Ministry of Health, there are serious lack of dental care clinics, having this type of services in 88% of the clinics through bus and boats which can reach into the rural areas to provide dental care to the natives and estate workers.

  3. Perkhidmatan pergigian bergerak memang sangat baik dilaksanakan oleh Kementerian Kesihatan. Kalau pergi di hospital, kena buat appointment dan tunggu beberapa bulan lagi. Sempat lagi gigi tu rosak kalau mahu minta ditampal. Seingat saya, gigi yang mahu dicabut saja yang akan dapat rawatan serta merta.

  4. Dulu waktu di sekolah rendah, jururawat pergigian akan datang ke sekolah untuk bagi perkhidmatan pergigian pada pelajar. Tidaklah susah2 lagi ibubapa bawa pergi klinik gigi. Kalau sekolah menengah ada lagi ka perkhidmatan pergigian dibuat? sebab dulu sepanjang lima tahun di sekolah menengah, pernah sekali saja jururawat pergigian ni datang ke sekolah. Sekarang paling mudah la datang saja ke klinik swasta kalau mahu cepat.

    1. Kualiti pun harus dipertingkatkan juga. Jururawat ke sekolah2 pun usaha yang perlu diteruskan dan ditingkatkan kualiti.

  7. Talking about the new programme, Deputy Health Minister Datuk Rosnah Abdul Rashid Shirlin said that a survey carried out in 2009 had reported that half of the children were suffering from dental caries.

  8. Apparently, an average of three teeth was affected with caries among the children who had poor dental health.

  9. Meanwhile, another survey carried out in 2007 had stated that 70% children in the state were suffering from dental caries. All the children involved in the two studies were under 12 years old.

  10. In order to resolve this problem, the Health Ministry and the state have decided to reach an agreement regarding the prevention of caries.

  12. The state with the worst levels of dental hygiene has been identified as Sabah and it happens to have the highest rate of teeth caries in Malaysia.

  13. Talking about dental hygiene in general, Deputy Health Minister Datuk Rosnah Abd Rashid Shirlin said that the level of oral health has improved drastically in Malaysia over the past three decades. Though, situation in Sabah continued to remain the same.

  18. syabas kerana menganjurkan perkhidmatan pergigian ke kawasan2 pedalaman.. usaha murni ini perlu diteruskan dimasa2 akan datang..
