OBAMA'S SECRET SERVICE AGENTS IN HOOKER SCANDAL

SECRET Service agents protecting President Barack Obama in Colombia have been sent home in disgrace amid allegations they had been using hookers. Twelve officials were returned to the US after the claims emerged.

It was also alleged that the agents had been drinking heavily at the hotel they were staying in.

Cartagena's Hotel Caribe, also hosted members of the White House staff and press corps.

An employee claimed the security staff arrived at the beachfront hotel about a week ago, and drank heavily during the time they were there.

The employee added the agents left the hotel Thursday - a day before Obama and other regional leaders arrived for a planned summit this weekend.

The Washington Post reports Jon Adler, president of the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association, as saying at least one agent has been accused of having involvement with prostitutes while there.

The incident threatened to overshadow Obama’s economic and trade agenda at the summit and embarrass the US.

The White House had no comment but did not dispute the allegations. (thesun.co.uk)
