EXPOSED SCREWS MAY HURT PEDESTRIAN

EXPOSED.... Edward, Andrew Lee and Noriah Onong showing the screws on the plinths.

THE PEDESTRIANS in Sembulan shops told the Sabah DAP leaders there are some dangerous screws sticking out and left on the pavement from the telephone booths which were taken away.

They said these screws will caused danger to the pedestrians when they are walking pass without noticing them. They might trip over and get hurt. It is especially so if it is in the dark night. They wanted these screws to be removed immediately.

On inspection, the DAP leaders Edward Ewol Mujie, Andrew Lee Chee Kiong and Noriah Onong found that the screws sticking out on the old concrete plinths of the telephone booths which were dismantled are very long and can caused people to trip over if not careful.

They said the telephone company should be more careful and considerate, and should come immediately to remove the concrete plinths and the screws. The whole pavement must be reinstated to its level surface with the pavement and walkway.

DBKK being in charge of the city should take stern action towards this matter and don’t leave these screws there until someone is hurt. We cannot afford a mishap to happen. There are many other similar sight in the city and DBKK should be more aware and has to “level and iron out” all these little obstacles which might caused danger to people.
