KOTA KINABALU : Sabah Chief
Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman wants UMNO and Barisan Nasional (BN) members to
accept an candidate named by the party leadership for the 13th General
Election.
He advised members against
speculating the selection of candidates, but rather maintain unity within the
party and coalition and work hard to ensure victory for the BN.
"What is important is
that BN wins," he told reporters after opening a women's national
transformation seminar at the Tabung Haji complex, near here, today.
He was asked to comment on
the alleged insinuation by seven Sepanggar Umno leaders that they would resign
from their respective party posts if the BN leadership chose to nominate an
'outsider' for the Sepanggar parliamentary seat.
"We have made a promise
that we will support whoever the candidate would be, as long as he has the
credibility and qualification," reminded Musa, who is BN state chairman
and also state Umno liaison chief.
On the launch of the Ops
Daulat Appreciation programme by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Abdul
Razak in Lahad Datu yesterday, Musa said the state appreciated the federal
government's prompt action to establish the Eastern Sabah Security Zone
(Esszone) and Eastern Sabah Safety Command (Esscom) to ensure peace and the
security of the people in Sabah. (Bernama)
